WEST MIDDLE Virtual - Wednesday, Thursday, Friday

Dear LISA Family

LISA Academy has made the decision to continue our shift to virtual learning for Wednesday through Friday, January 12-14, 2022.  Please remember that Monday, January 17 is the MLK Holiday, and so there will be no school.  We are planning, at this time, to return to in-person education on January 18th. This decision was made due to the high level of cases and spread in the community, and because of staff and substitute shortages in several schools due to quarantine and isolation protocols. This will also allow time to fully contact trace current cases in the schools and to deep clean buildings.   We will be following the AMI (alternative means of instruction) plans for these two days.  I've outlined those below.

1. Students should log into Schoology to their regularly scheduled class at the normal class time.  Teachers will be doing short live sessions through Schoology Conferences and will be placing assignments and guidance on Schoology.

2. Students are expected to complete work in a timely fashion, participate in the conference, and engage with both their teachers and their learning colleagues in the virtual environment.

3. Students will be considered absent if they fail to be present.

Student meals will be available for pick up as follows at these two locations:

West Elementary School

12200 Westhaven Drive, LR

Breakfast 7:30 - 8:30 a.m.

Lunch 11:00 a.m. - 12:00 noon

Again, we hope that this is a very short virtual interlude in our school year.  Thank you for your understanding, and we hope that you and your family stay safe and well!

Peace,

Dr. Durand
