COVID Update re: Masking
Dear LISA Academy Parents/Guardians,
In their regular meeting on Wednesday, March 16, 2022, the LISA Academy Board of Directors decided that the current mandatory masking policy on LISA Academy campuses will be changed to optional masking, effective beginning March 28, 2022. Students and staff who have underlying conditions should consult their medical provider to determine if they should continue to mask. Those who choose to continue masking are encouraged to do so and will not be restricted in this practice. This decision was made based on current CDC guidance and several weeks of very low cases in LISA schools. If there is another spike in cases in either region where LISA Academy schools serve, the mandatory masking requirement may be reinstated for some or all schools.
Additionally, the board affirmed that our schools will no longer conduct contact tracing or identification and notification of Probable Close Contacts within the school environment. Contact tracing and reporting are no longer required or supported by the state.
LISA Academy will continue to monitor the impact of COVID-19 on our schools and will implement any changes necessary to best serve and protect our students and staff. You are asked to continue reporting any positive cases by contacting your student’s school or by using the self-reporting form located on school websites. Any eligible students are also encouraged to receive the full series of COVID-19 immunizations to best protect themselves and others.
If you have any questions, you may contact the school nurse at your student’s school or the District Point of Contact, Luanne Baroni at email@example.com.
