School Information - Traffic, Clubs, Etc.
We at LISA Academy West Middle School are committed to focusing on Every Student, Every Day!
Please make sure to review the TRAFFIC PLANS below. Things got better throughout the week, but we still have a ways to go. Please make sure that you come to the right spot, pull all the way down, and very, very importantly, do not block our neighbors driveways along Corporate Hill. We received a couple of complaints this past week (an that is not really that uncommon on the first few days of school until we get our rhythm down). Please make sure to help us out and be good neighbors!
Also included here are the Club lists and Registration Form, Traffic Plans, Tutoring Information, the Bell Schedule and an important reminder about the phone numbers at LISA.
For many years, the middle school phone number was the same. However, we've moved up the hill into the 23 Corporate Hill building, and our phone number has changed as well. I know it can be frustrating to call a number and not get a response. The phone number for the Middle School is 501-246-5853. Please change to that number in your contacts.
Please also check the Principal's Corner periodically for updates as well.
Traffic Plan - 6th GRADE ONLY
This is critically important!
Drop-off for 6th grade students will be BEHIND the 23 Corporate Hill location. As the map indicates, parents/guardians should take Executive Court from Markham and drive behind the 23 Corporate Hill building. Drop off will be at the gym doors. Please note that for ease of traffic flow, there are two lanes. Students who are registered for Before-Care may be dropped off at the gym doors after 6:45 a.m. Students who are not registered for Before-Care should be dropped off no earlier than 7:40. Students will be allowed into the building at 7:40 a.m. IF your student is getting breakfast, they will pick up breakfast in the cafeteria and go to their classroom. Students who are not getting breakfast will go directly to their classrooms. Classes begin promptly at 7:55 a.m.

On Wednesdays, dismissal is at 1:33. Please DO NOT arrive before 1:33. There will be Bridge After Care on Wednesdays for students who need to be picked up at the standard 3:10 pick-up time.
We are using the application PikMyKid for dismissal this year. A placard with a number will be given to each student. Please display this prominently when you come to pick up your student. A staff member will type the number in upon your arrival and your student will come out.
If your 6th grade student has a 7th or 8th grade sibling, they will be dropped off and picked up IN FRONT of the 23 Corporate Hill building.

Tutoring
There will be mandatory afterschool tutoring for some students this year. The mandatory tutoring will show up on the student's schedule. Tutoring is a very important support for student learning, especially with the struggles we have all encountered through the COVID year. Please make sure that your student is present for their tutoring days and is picked up following tutoring. Tutoring HAS BEGUN.

Schedules, HAC, and Schoology
Some schedules have been changed on the basis of the NWEA MAP test results.
We have not yet been told when the Home Access Center will be available. When our District Staff gives us an update, I will update this space, and we will send out information to parents/guardians.
Students have already received their Schoology codes, and they will be reminded of them during the first couple of days this week as they get their chromebooks.
